Hicksville High School’s celebrated homecoming on Nov. 2.
Students, staff and community members gathered on the field to watch the football team play the Hempstead Tigers.
Before the game, the school hosted its annual homecoming fair with activities, games, spirit wear, gift basket raffles, food and refreshments. Tables on booths were operated by students, parents and school community organizations.
Local children were also able to play on the inflatable slides and bouncy houses.
The celebration kicked off with a procession of the marching band, cheerleaders and kickline team.
The four classes displayed banners with this year’s “Seasons” theme. The senior class took home best-banner honor for their fall design.
Hicksville High School student Alyson Kingsley sang the national anthem at the start of the game.
Comet pride carried over onto the field, with a varsity football game and halftime festivities, including performances from the marching band and color guard, cheerleaders and kickline team.
The Hicksville Varsity Football team lost 22-7.
Tiffany Martinez and Carla Alvardo Martinez were named homecoming royalty at the school’s pep rally.
