South High School Rebel Robotics Team No. 2638 attended the Kenneth R. Vessey Jr. Robotics Invitational on Oct. 27, hosted by Half Hollow Hills High School West in Dix Hills.
The Rebels were named captain of the fifth-seeded alliance with Kings Park High School and Lindenhurst High School (pictured).
In double-elimination playoffs, the Rebels’ alliance beat the top-seeded alliance twice on their way to win the championship.
This invitational is an off-season event that brings together local teams to compete using the FIRST Robotics game from last school year.
