Eight Wantagh athletes commit to college

Eight Wantagh High School athletes have committed to NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 colleges next year. The students were recognized at a letter of intent signing ceremony on Nov. 19.

Joined by their parents, siblings and administrators, the seniors will play for teams

on Long Island, upstate New York and throughout the Northeast. 

Jennifer Keane, director of physical education, health and athletics, said this is a “monumental achievement” that reflects students’ hard work, dedication and determination. She commended their commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

Principal Paul Guzzone added that the seniors are a “remarkable group” who have made sacrifices to achieve greatness. Guzzonne said the eight students will always be Warriors at heart and will continue to bring pride to their hometown.

The college-bound athletes are:

  • Juliana Cerasi, lacrosse, James Madison University
  • Riley Forthofer, lacrosse, University of Albany
  • Lyla Ingrilli, lacrosse, University of Maryland
  • Dylan Martini, lacrosse, University of Albany
  • Peyton Naus, lacrosse, Molloy University
  • Emma Priest, softball, Adelphi University
  • Sadie Reich, volleyball, Seton Hall University
  • Isabella Sandoval, lacrosse, Binghamton University
