The City of Glen Cove celebrated the holidays with a Christmas tree lighting earlier this month.
The ceremony included a full day of festivities, hosted by the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District. The group organized the activities until 4:45 PM, when the city took over to continue the celebration.
The tree lighting ceremony featured a blessing from Reverend Shawn Williams. The 32-foot tall tree was donated by Michael Corigliano and Phil Zuccala and sponsored by RXR/4D Development Corp.
“We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for this special tradition,” said Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck in a release.
“Thanks to the Glen Cove Special Events Committee for distributing light-up necklaces to the children, and to the BID and all our sponsors for making this a magical day,” she said.
