On December 8th, the Gold Coast Arts Center Dance Competition students, parents, and dance teachers experienced the magic and wonder of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.

Students were treated to a guided backstage tour of the New York City Ballet’s treasured holiday favorite, where they were captivated by the lure of Tchaikovsky’s music, Balanchine’s choreography, beautiful costumes and magical sets.

For some, it was their first experience at Lincoln Center.

Everyone was invited on stage before the dancers performed for an amazing photo they’ll never forget.

The fun doesn’t stop there. On Dec. 14, the Gold Coast Arts Advanced Level II Art students will visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art for a hands-on enriching experience outside the classroom.

A customized tour and drawing session with School Director Ellen Schiff will be an amazing opportunity for the students to make the most of their encounters with great works of art.

More tailor-made field trips are scheduled for the 2025 school year.
