The Kids Need More Holiday Cheer bus was an extraordinary culmination of months of planning, packing, and pure holiday spirit.

The 10th annual event, on Dec. 22, saw a fleet of nearly 50 buses — each led by a Head Elf, Santa Claus, a team of cheerful elves and sacks overflowing with gifts — roll through neighborhoods, delivering personalized visits to children and their families. This remarkable effort ensured that every child and caregiver felt included, with no cost to the families.

Incredible teams like Santa’s Sunflowers, Howie’s Hearts, Ladies Loving Life Cheer Bus, and Winter Wonder Wheels made it all possible. Kids Need More specially recognized Team Joy, last year’s reigning champions, and the unforgettable LC Reindeer Rebels, who brought their A-game this year. And once again, Mr. Lightning Bus wowed everyone with its vibrant energy and community connection.

“Many of our volunteers were former recipients themselves in past years and have returned to give back,” said Melissa “Misteltoe” Firmes, president and co-founder of Kids Need More. “It’s so gratifying to see all the hard work bring such joy and comfort to so many folks in need and to see it come full circle.”

Johnny “Jingles” Ray, Co-Founder, added, “We are so grateful to all of the wonderful folks in the community who help make this possible. Without the support of our volunteers, donors, and sponsors, we could not have pulled off this huge effort.”

Charity sponsors of the feel-good event included HW Wilson Foundation, With Pride Air Conditioning and Heating, Light the World, Sharing is Caring, The Huntington St. Patrick’s School – DiSCO ELVES Team and Costello’s Cares.

Thanks to donations, sponsors and the tireless efforts of volunteers, every bus was brimming with gifts and holiday spirit, reaching even more families this year.
