Williston Park Public Library offers programs and free books

The Williston Park Public Library is offering both children’s and adult’s programming through the spring and summer, as well as free books for elementary school teachers

Adult Programs:

Reiki: April 3 & 17; May 1 & 15; June 5 & 19 at 6p.m. in the Assembly Room of Village Hall.  $10 per person/per session.

Newborn Workshop with Dr. Elissa Rubin: April 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Assembly Room of Village Hall. This free workshop is designed to help new and expecting parents get the most out of their newborn experience.  Topics include enjoying your newborn, minimizing anxiety, what you need to own, sleeping, feeding and more.  Call 516-216-5910 or email happyandhealthypediatrics.com/newbornworkshop to register.  

Ceramics Series with Rosemarie Attard: Wednesdays, including April 16 (Garden Stones); May 7 (Flower Turtle); June 18 (Garden Butterfly); July 16 (Beach Sign–6pm in the library. $15 material fee per/craft.  Each class is limited to 25 participants. Yoga for Adults: Saturdays, including March 29; April 5, 12, 19 & 26; May 1, 15, 22 & 29; June 5, 19 & 26, from 12 p.m. -1p.m. in the Assembly Room of Village Hall. $10 p/class.  Call the library (742-1820) or email willistonparkprograms@gmail.com to register.

Chair Yoga: Thursdays, including April 3, 10, 17, 24; May 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31; June 7, 14, 21 & 28, from 11a.m.-12 p.m. in the Assembly Room of Village Hall.  $10 p/class. Call the library (742-1820) or email willistonparkprograms@gmail.com to register.

Children’s Programs

Groovy STEM–Saturday–April 5–Noon-1 pm in the Children’s Room for ages 5+.  Call the library (742-1820) or email willistonparkprogrrams@gmail.com to register.

Castles & Catapults–Saturday–May 10–Noon-1 pm in the Children’s Room for ages 5+.  Call the library (742-1820) or email willistonparkprogrrams@gmail.com to register.

Additionally, the Friends of the Library will have their next meeting on Monday, April 7 at 3pm in the Library. They are looking to revitalize the group with new members, and all are welcome. 

The library still has discount tickets to the LI Aquarium for $27 while supplies last.  

Elementary school teachers in need of gently used, non-fiction books for their class library can stop by the library and browse a cart of free books, including the below new titles:

The library is not accepting donations at this time, and any donated books left outside or in book bins will be discarded. Patrons who would like to donate books can contact the Book Fairies in Freeport with any donations.

The Williston Park Library is using a new reservation system for Museum Passes. Residents can still request passes at the reference desk. If guests reserve a pass from home, a PIN is now required. If guests already have one, please use that number. If a guest doesn’t have one or doesn’t remember it, they can email wppubliclibrary@gmail.com. Residents should include their name and library card # in the message, which staff will reply to.
