On March 6, history came to life inside Manhasset’s Shelter Rock Elementary School as third grade classes transformed into interactive wax museums.

Parents were invited to join the fun, which started with a spirited performance in the auditorium before the parade of historical figures, including presidents, athletes, inventors, authors and more, marched to their classrooms and stood like statues in front of their desks.

Each of the elaborately outfitted wax figures sported a “Press Me” button. When pressed, they came to life and revealed biographical information on their subjects, including details on their life and accomplishments.

In addition, each display also included a carefully researched presentation where attendees could learn more about the lives of their subjects.
