The 72nd Annual Manhasset SCA Fair is quickly approaching. This year, the SCA Fair will be held on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a rain date of May 4, at Munsey Park Elementary School.

This special day is fun for everyone in the family. Younger children can enjoy rides like the carousel and super slides, while more daring kids may go straight to the 50-foot drop. Parents and children alike can enjoy the beautiful views of the grounds from the ferris wheel.

For those attendees who prefer to have two feet on the ground, try your luck at one of the many carnival games and see if you can win a giant stuffed animal.

As in years past, the fair will feature a variety of cuisine. For those who prefer typical carnival food, there will be plenty of hot dogs and fries. The Greek tent and dumpling tent will provide ethnic cuisine. Manhasset families stock the bakery tent with all sorts of treats. Community volunteers staff all of the food tents.

Vendors include several different merchants. Anyone looking for spring flowers can purchase them at the plant sale.

In addition, both Manhasset Soccer and the Booster club will have booths for any community members interested in purchasing spirit wear. The merchant tents keep the adults busy while the kids enjoy rides and games.

The Munsey Park and Shelter Rock Jazz Bands and Chamber Orchestras will be performing in the entertainment area, along with groups from the Secondary School. Other entertainment acts include Moves and Motion and the Munsey Park Dance Club. The entertainment bleachers are a great place to take a break from the rides and games.

The fair is the SCA’s largest fundraiser of the year. All of the money raised goes directly back to the students in the school.

The funds support programs like Saturday Series, field trips, enrichment programs and extended extras.

The SCA Fair relies heavily on volunteers from the community for all tasks including setting up prior to the event and managing tents and rides on May 3. If you are not able to volunteer, please consider contributing to a journal ad or sponsoring a ride or booth.

The SCA is grateful for all of the community involvement with this event.

The SCA is grateful that local business, Gallery Couture, will be hosting a day of shopping to benefit the SCA Fair.  This special shopping event will be held on Saturday April 26 at 345 Plandome Road in Manhasset. On this day, 15% of all purchases at Gallery Couture will benefit the Manhasset SCA. Please consider stopping by Gallery Couture for a day of fun and fashion.
