Here are the newest hires and promotions across Long Island.
Joanna Jia
Book Fairies, a Freeport-based nonprofit dedicated to providing equitable access to books and fostering literacy, appointed Jia to its board of directors. She is senior vice president and associate general counsel at Jefferies, bringing a deep expertise in securities law and corporate governance to the organization.
Steven M. Kass
Book Fairies also appointed to its board of directors Kass, who is managing director of Alignment Partners, a seasoned tax professional and consultant, bringing more than 40 years of experience in business transformation and organizational strategy. His prior executive roles on Wall Street and service on several corporate and nonprofit boards provide him with a unique perspective.
Patty Kim
Book Fairies additionally appointed to its board of directors Kim, who is chief academic officer at Theory & Practice, bringing more than 20 years of experience in education to the board. A former teacher, curriculum designer, and principal, she has been a lifelong advocate for equitable access to literacy.
Joseph M. Prinzo
Family & Children’s Association (FCA), a leading health and human services nonprofit organization, welcomed Prinzo, senior manager business development at Jovia Financial Credit Union, to the nonprofit’s board of trustees. Prinzo has been with Jovia since August 2016. With over 25 years of banking experience, Joe has held executive positions with Citibank, Bank-One, Management Recruiters international, Perennial Resources International and NY Bay Capital throughout his career.
Tiffany Powell
Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center appointed Powell, RN, as its chief nursing officer. Powell, who has also been named associate executive director for patient care services, brings more than two decades of nursing experience at Northwell Health to the new roles. She joins LIJ from sister hospital LIJ Forest Hills in Queens, where she served as CNO.
Robert S. Prezant
Prezant, the president of Farmingdale State College, has been appointed to the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council (LIREDC). Serving as a regional council member, President Prezant will sit on two work groups, the Natural Assets and Tourism, and the Workforce Development and Education groups
Jacqueline Pileggi
Pileggi was promoted from BIM/CAD Specialist 1 to BIM/CAD Specialist 2 at H2M architects + engineers. She is working out of its Melville office.
Michal Sleszynski
Sleszynski was promoted from Senior Project Architect 1 to Senior Project Architect 2 at H2M architects + engineers. He is also working out of the Melville office.
