In an era marked by economic uncertainty and growing concerns about retirement readiness, Schneps Media is hosting a unique, free one-day event designed to demystify financial planning and empower individuals with practical tools for long-term security. Appropriately titled “WTF! What the Financial!”, the event brings together top financial minds, legal experts, and industry professionals for a day of advice, education, and empowerment.

Taking place at Nassau Community College in Garden City, WTF! is open to the public and features exhibitors and thought leaders offering insights across the financial planning spectrum — from retirement and estate planning to market strategy and personal budgeting.

“This is a must-attend event that offers valuable tips and strategies to help you plan for retirement, no matter where you are in your journey,” said Joshua Schneps, CEO of Schneps Media.

Among the standout exhibitors is Ron Fatoullah, of Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP, a recognized expert in elder law and estate planning.

“Planning ahead is not just about trying to predict the future — it’s about creating it with intention rather than reacting to it in haste,” Fatoullah shared.

Attendees will also have the opportunity for free one-on-one 15-minute consultations with Certified Financial Planners, courtesy of the Financial Planning Association of Long Island

“One of the many benefits of the WTF! program is the ability for participants to engage with professional planners at no cost,” said Mark A. Badami, CFP, president of the Hauppauge-based Long Island FPA Chapter. “In today’s volatile market, prudent advice is more important than ever. Our goal is to create long-term financial success for every individual.”

The event’s keynote speaker, Diane Harris, former Editor-in-Chief of Money Magazine and current contributor to The New York Times and Time, returns for the second year in a row.

“At a time of great uncertainty in the economy and financial markets, I’ll be talking about strategies to help ensure that your money lasts your lifetime,” Harris said. “The good news is there really are smart steps everyone can take to bolster their financial security in retirement.”

Additional featured speaker Jammie Lyell of AARP will provide further insight into financial strategies tailored for the 50+ community. AARP New York is a proud sponsor of WTF!, with Beth Finkel, AARP New York State Director, noting: “Nearly 50% of New Yorkers report they don’t feel confident they’ll have enough to live comfortably in retirement. This event is about turning uncertainty into empowerment — giving people the tools and knowledge they need to take control.”

Whether you’re just starting to save or already navigating retirement, WTF! promises to be a transformative day filled with actionable guidance, expert resources, and the reassurance that no one has to face their financial future alone.
