North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth was reelected on Nov. 7 to her third two-year term with 27, 244 votes—a 65 percent margin of victory over her opponent.
“I am truly honored to have been reelected so that I may continue to serve the people of North Hempstead,” said Bosworth. “I am looking forward to once again working together with our dedicated town council as we continue to make the Town of North Hempstead one of the best places to live, raise a family and age in place.”
Bosworth first took office in 2014, as the 37th supervisor of the Town of North Hempstead, following six years with the Nassau County Legislature as the representative for the 10th District and 16 years serving as trustee on the Great Neck Public School District Board of Education.
From Bosworth’s first day in office, her administration’s hallmark has been to establish an open, inclusive and transparent government that serves all the residents of North Hempstead. This past year, Bosworth lead the town in the adoption of stringent ethics reforms and financial disclosure policies and a new anti-nepotism law that will bolster and clarify the Town Code of Ethics.
“The changes to the Town’s Code of Ethics and the anti-nepotism law will increase openness and transparency in government, and give taxpayers a sense of comfort and trust in their town government, its elected officials and those doing business with the town,” she said.
Town Council Members Viviana Russell, Lee Seeman and Angelo Ferrara were also reelected, along with Town Clerk Wayne Wink. The official swearing-in ceremony will take place on Jan. 7, 2018 at Clinton G. Martin Park.
