Idina Menzel Documentary Drops on Disney+
A documentary about the life of Syosset native Idina Menzel, the singer and Broadway star, began streaming on Disney+ on Dec. 9.
The film, Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?, goes behind the scenes of the Tony Award-winning actress’s rise to fame on Broadway’s productions of Rent and Wicked, as well as her role as Elsa and song “Let It Go” in the hit animated Disney movie Frozen.
“The success of Frozen, that was a defining moment for me,” Menzel says in the trailer for the documentary. “It is about harnessing this power we all have in ourselves.”
Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage? features footage from Menzel’s Broadway performances and her 2018 concert at Madison Square Garden. It also touches upon her personal life as a mother and wife, featuring interviews with her friends, family, and colleagues.
Menzel was also in Disenchanted, another film to drop on Disney+ recently. She reprises her role of Nancy Tremaine in this sequel to the 2007 film Enchanted.
